JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to service and maintain the Automatic Fare collection equipment. As in Gates, TOMS, TVM, LCU, SCU you will be required to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, repair, or replace parts, and conduct the needed tests. The goal is to maintain the AFC equipment in the best possible condition covering the stations of Cairo Metro Line 3.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Perform on-site preventive and corrective maintenance of AFC equipment.

Assist the AFC supervisors in carrying out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Ensure the maintenance tools & equipment are in good condition.

Troubleshoot hardware failures and replace defective parts.

Close supervision and leadership of subcontractors to ensure that they are following the PM plan without failures.

Immediate responding to mechanical failures and system malfunctions.

Perform line corrective maintenance to release failures on equipment in station and back office in the shortest possible time to ensure good operation of the equipment and the system.

Maintain service logs, fault reports, and part inventory usage.

Servicing and maintaining machine parts.

Maintaining stock and ordering supplies.

Maintaining a clean working area.

Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with the Health and Safety Act.

Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed to ensure all environmental and safety rules are respected and alert Executive Maintenance of any environmental and safety issue.

To undertake any other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant mechanical, Electrical certification.

Proven experience as maintenance technician.

Knowledge of AFC systems is preferable.

Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions.

Physically fit and able to handle tasks in time.

Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.

Ability to work independently.

KNOWLEDGE:

General technical knowledge.

EXPERIENCE:

Fresh/ Experienced work experience as a qualified electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical technician in maintaining and repairing AFC equipment is highly preferable.

DESIRED BEHAVIORS & EXPERIENCES

English good in reading and Arabic is a must.

Ability to grasp the complexity of inner workings of AFC.

Ability to use and calibrate various electrical, electronic, and mechanical test equipment and PC for the maintenance of depot equipment.

Ability to write simple technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required.

Possess good communication skills.
