API / Integrations Specialist - Insurance

Design, develop, and maintain API integrations between internal systems and external partners.

Integrate core insurance systems, policy administration platforms, CRM, payment gateways, and broker portals.

Develop and support RESTful and SOAP APIs for internal and third-party integrations.

Collaborate with business teams, vendors, and IT teams to gather integration requirements.

Ensure secure data exchange using authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT, or SSO.

Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize performance of APIs and middleware.

Create and maintain API documentation and integration architecture diagrams.

Monitor API performance, logs, and system reliability.

Support digital initiatives such as mobile apps, web portals, and partner integrations.

Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with API development and integration (REST, SOAP).
• Knowledge of JSON, XML, and web services.
• Experience with middleware or integration platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, WSO2, Apigee, etc.).
• Familiarity with authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, JWT).
• Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or API gateways.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and system integration patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
• Knowledge of database technologies (SQL / NoSQL).

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in Insurance, Banking, or Financial Services.
• Integration experience with:

• Exposure to insurance digital platforms or InsurTech ecosystems.
