Job Description – Cost Accountant

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Industry: Building Materials / Manufacturing / Trading

Position Summary

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling product and operational costs in the building materials business. The role ensures accurate cost records, supports pricing decisions, and improves profitability through cost control and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1) Costing & Inventory Control

• Prepare and maintain product cost sheets for building materials (cement, steel, aluminum, panels, etc.)

• Calculate standard cost, actual cost, and variance analysis

• Monitor raw material, labor, and overhead costs

• Review inventory valuation and stock movement

• Conduct periodic stock reconciliation with warehouse

2) Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Prepare monthly cost reports and profitability analysis

• Analyze production and operational expenses

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and inefficiencies

• Support budgeting and forecasting process

• Prepare management reports on cost performance

3) Budgeting & Cost Control

• Assist in preparing annual budgets

• Monitor actual expenses vs budget

• Implement cost control procedures

• Review purchase and production costs

4) Compliance & Coordination

• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

• Coordinate with production, procurement, and finance teams

• Support internal and external audits

• Maintain accurate financial and cost records

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Cost Accounting

• 3–7 years experience as Cost Accountant (preferably in building materials / manufacturing)

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles

• Experience with ODDO ERP systems

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of VAT regulations in Saudi Arabia is an advantage
