Design Engineer

Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV)

Support design studies and investigate alternative engineering solutions.

• Contribute to the development of new systems and processes that enhance quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Assist in evaluating product usability, safety, and environmental impact.
• Use CAD and CAE software to develop and refine product designs and prototypes.
• Collect and analyze test data from prototypes and recommend improvements.
• Modify designs based on testing results and conduct re-testing when required.
• Prepare regular progress reports and present updates to project managers.
• Analyze and improve existing products, components, and engineering processes.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Review project concepts, specifications, tenders, and development requirements for new products or components.
• Support model making, prototyping, and product testing activities.
• Assist in project planning to ensure delivery within timeline, quality standards, and budget.
• Interpret engineering sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine design factors such as size, shape, and part arrangement.
• Review product designs for compliance with engineering standards, company policies, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate technical development activities, schedules, and resolution of design and testing issues.
• Monitor project-related expenditures within approved budgets.
• Prepare interim and final project reports.
• Inspect machines and parts during production to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities related to product engineering.
• Follow up on product performance and implement required design modifications throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to produce drawings in accordance with applicable standards, including welding symbols and tolerances.
• Perform any additional duties as required by business needs.

• Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
