PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/strong>

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain and support database and related software applications to the agreed standards and service level agreements. In addition to drive the installation and configuration processes of new database software applications

2. Verify and help in verifying data integrity by combining resources and departmental collaboration. In addition to evaluate databases and recommend changes and improvements when necessary

3. Coordinate database system backups and ensure backups take place during regularly set intervals

4. Drive and ensure regular health check reviews on database systems as well as to ensure proper management of user accounts and accesses

5. Make sure to apply the company s database security standards in order to maximize security and minimize risk. In addition to define common infrastructure building blocks, and actively promote their use for all new projects

6. Seek to migrate current systems onto building blocks for mass efficiency and effectiveness as well as to promote decommissioning of inefficient solutions

7. Proactively identify and act upon simplification and cost efficiency initiatives

8. Prepare and manage the preparation of quarterly reports to the ITLT. In addition to supervise the installation, monitoring, and tuning of SQL Server based applications

9. Develop robust database structures, theories, principles, and practices, assess and evaluate database programs on a regular basis

10. Modify and fine tune database programs to enhance processing performance and Interface with end users to understand their needs and requirements

Key Accountabilities

1. Manage and control the unit s projects to ensure project cycle completion and commitment to the company s guidelines and quality.

2. Guide, and assist employees by direct reports to perform their functional operations in accordance with set policies and procedures.

3. Oversee and manage all the unit s staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.

4. Set performance objectives, provide the necessary support, evaluate team(s), and offer regular feedback on performance.

5. Comply with communication and information sharing/handling policy to ensure confidentiality of the information and comply with all relevant risk and information security procedures to ensure operating within the acceptable risk levels.

6. Manage the development and implementation of the unit s policies, procedures, and processes covering all areas of the unit s activities to ensure the fulfillment of all work requirements.

7. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and processes throughout the unit in order to achieve the company s operational excellence.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Certifications

Bachelor s degree in Information Technology is required

Master s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred

Knowledge and Experience

6 + years of experience in IT with at least 2 years of experience in a Senior Managerial position
