Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed material takeoffs from engineering drawings and project specifications
- Review and verify takeoffs by others to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures to define project scope, systems, and subsystems
- Prepare full Basis of Estimate documentation including scope, methodology, labor and material pricing, assumptions, exclusions, escalation, and QC results
- Deliver complete cost estimates covering contract conditions, general requirements, and job costs
- Use parametric data and historical estimates to produce order-of-magnitude and conceptual estimates
- Apply bottom-up estimating for detailed project cost development
- Prepare requests for bids or quotations and analyze vendor pricing
- Support estimating leads with historical cost data collection and estimate database maintenance
- Review contract documents to identify cost risks and assign appropriate exposure levels
- Provide guidance to Associate Estimators and collaborate in small estimating teams
- Produce quality-controlled estimates that meet client and project requirements
- Perform other estimating and cost-analysis responsibilities as required

Position Overview
This Estimator role with Parsons Corporation in Dubai focuses on preparing cost estimates, material takeoffs, basis-of-estimate reports, and pricing analyses for major infrastructure, roads, bridges, and tunnels projects across the UAE. The position requires strong analytical ability, technical understanding of construction methods, and experience working with estimating databases and project controls tools.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor s degree in engineering, construction management, or quantity surveying
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating for infrastructure, roads, bridges, or tunnels
- Strong background using estimating database software and project controls tools
- Good knowledge of construction methods, drawings, contract documents, and specifications
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and tools such as CostX or similar
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multi-disciplinary project teams
