Role Overview

The Early Years & Primary PYP Spanish Acquisition Teacher plays a key role in nurturing multilingualism, international-mindedness, and a love of learning. They will work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families to support language acquisition and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.

Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish Acquisition lessons aligned with the PYP.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• -Use technology and digital platforms (e.g., Toddle, Microsoft Teams) to enhance learning and communication.

Curriculum & Assessment

• Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the PYP Spanish Acquisition curriculum.
• Support the implementation of Understanding by Design and Assessment for Learning practices.
• Assist the school in meeting programme requirements for NEASC and the IB.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

• Participate in professional development, team meetings, and staff training.
• Foster strong collaborative relationships across grade levels and departments.
• Contribute to a positive team spirit and environment of mutual respect.

Community & Contribution

• Engage with families to support student learning and wellbeing.
• Contribute to community service, global citizenship initiatives, and whole school events.
• Participate in the school s extracurricular activities programme.
• Represent and uphold the professional standards of the teaching body.
