Head of Index Investments Client of Aventus Global Talent

The Head of Passive Investment will lead the client s passive investment platform, overseeing index-tracking funds, ETFs, and rule-based portfolios. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient portfolio replication, minimizing tracking error, optimizing costs, and maintaining robust liquidity management, while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and investment mandates.This position will also drive innovation in passive investment solutions and strengthen the client s competitive positioning across indexed and systematic strategies.

Investment Strategy & Portfolio Management

• Lead the development and execution of passive investment strategies aligned with benchmark indices and client mandates
• Oversee index replication methodologies including full replication, sampling, and optimization techniques
• Manage portfolio rebalancing in line with index changes, inflows/outflows, and corporate actions
• Monitor portfolio performance versus benchmarks, ensuring adherence to risk parameters and mandates
• Oversee tracking error management and implement improvements to replication accuracy

Product & Platform Oversight

• Oversee the management and performance of ETFs and index funds on the client s platform
• Drive new product development across passive strategies, including smart beta and thematic solutions
• Review fund documentation, including prospectuses and regulatory filings
• Support innovation in indexed and systematic investment offerings

Trading, Liquidity & Cost Optimization

• Ensure efficient execution and liquidity management across portfolios
• Coordinate with market makers and authorized participants
• Optimize transaction costs, custody expenses, and overall operational efficiency

Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with CMA regulations, internal investment policies, and fund mandates
• Monitor key risks including tracking error, liquidity risk, counterparty risk, and operational risk
• Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure strong controls and reporting frameworks

Performance & Reporting

• Oversee performance attribution analysis and benchmarking reviews
• Develop and track KPIs relating to fund efficiency, cost competitiveness, and replication accuracy
• Deliver regular investment reporting to senior management and clients

Client Engagement & Market Positioning

• Partner with Wealth Management teams to position passive products to institutional and retail clients
• Support client meetings and RFP processes for passive and indexed mandates
• Provide thought leadership on passive investing trends, index developments, and market dynamics

Leadership & Team Management

• Set clear objectives and KPIs for team members and ensure delivery against performance targets
• Lead, mentor, and develop investment professionals within the team
• Identify training and development needs to enhance team capability
• Foster a high-performance culture aligned with best-in-class asset management standards
