Head of Science

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, ambitious and highly relational Head of Science to lead our dynamic Secondary Science department at Universal American School, Dubai.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced middle or senior leader to shape the strategic direction of Science across Grades 6 12, inspire a collaborative team of teachers, and drive strong outcomes for students studying within an American curriculum school with both AP and IB pathways.

At UAS, Science is a key pillar of our academic provision. We are looking for a leader who believes in high expectations, strong relationships, inquiry, challenge and academic excellence, and who can ensure that students are not only successful in examinations, but also develop genuine curiosity about the world around them. The successful candidate will understand how to build a coherent Science experience from middle school through to graduation, ensuring students are well prepared for the demands of AP courses, the IB Diploma Programme, and future STEM-related pathways.

The successful candidate will bring a strong track record of raising attainment and progress, leading teams with clarity and purpose, and securing consistently high-quality teaching across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. They will be confident in curriculum design, assessment, data analysis, instructional coaching, quality assurance and staff development, and will be able to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day support for teachers and students. Experience of AP and/or IB Science, alongside a strong understanding of practical, inquiry-driven Science teaching, will be highly advantageous.
