Job Title: HSE Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and qualified HSE Engineer with experience in MEP construction projects to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards on-site. The ideal candidate will have 3 5 years of UAE experience, hold NEBOSH and OHSAS certifications, and be capable of implementing and maintaining HSE procedures in line with local regulations and project requirements.

This role is essential to promote a safe working environment, reduce risks, and support the companys commitment to health and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and systems across project sites.

• Conduct risk assessments, job safety analysis (JSA), and identify potential hazards.

• Ensure site activities comply with UAE safety regulations and client-specific HSE requirements.

• Monitor and report unsafe practices or conditions; recommend corrective actions.

• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for workers and staff.

• Maintain documentation such as incident reports, inspection checklists, and HSE records.

• Investigate accidents and near-misses; prepare reports with root cause analysis.

• Coordinate with site teams to implement permit-to-work systems and enforce PPE usage.

• Liaise with consultants, clients, and local authorities for safety inspections and audits.

• Promote a safety-first culture across all project teams and subcontractors.

• Keep up-to-date with new regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Engineering or a related technical field.

• 3 5 years of UAE experience in MEP construction.

• NEBOSH and OHSAS 18001 certifications are mandatory.

• Additional HSE certifications (IOSH, OSHA, First Aid, etc.) are a plus.

• Solid knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, municipality and Civil Defense standards.

• Strong communication and reporting skills.

• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
