Job Description

STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to engage a Customer Quality Technician within its Quality Department. The main role of the job holder shall be towards resolution and eradication of production issues impacting plant productivity and potentially Customer deliveries and product quality.

The job holder shall work on a 4-shift pattern, consisting of Day (06:00 till 18:00), Day (06:00 till 18:00), Rest, and Off, including weekends and public holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work towards resolution and eradication of production issues impacting plant productivity and potentially Customer deliveries and product quality.
• Collaborating with various internal departments during the course of investigation and troubleshooting linked to internal incidents.
• Ensure the correct management of the problematic material in agile way, flagging as non-conforming when required, perform quarantine, perform quality alerts, keeping track record of each case as per SOP and Malta BE LOP. This is to guarantee the segregation of problematic material ensuring no escape to subsequent process step or to Customer
• Developing and or following up on corrective actions, solutions, and improvements and ensure that they are effectively implemented. This is to reduce internal incidents, secure the continuity of manufacturing and ensure fast and effective resolution of quality events.
• Support in follow ups of quality improvement programs actions, following the Six-Sigma Methodology. This is to promote continuous improvement trends in quality, cost, productivity and delivery
• Share updates and findings of internal/ external incidents to QC Operators and collect any feedback on daily activities. This is to guarantee the segregation of problematic material ensuring no escape to subsequent process step or to Customer
• Review QC rejects at rawline and finishing and provide disposition. This is to guarantee the segregation of problematic material ensuring no escape to subsequent process step or to Customer.
• To discuss with Plant QC Rawline & Finishing Operators and share updates and findings of internal/ external incidents to QC Operators and collect any feedback on daily activities
• To follow up with Plant Engineering (mainly process, production and maintenance) Managers and Engineers for specific initiatives at Malta site (based on MRB, internal 8Ds, XAM, RA) - daily.

Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate shall:

• Technician / Bachelor in the field of Electric, Electronic, Mechatronic, Mechanical, Robotics etc.
• Have excellent problem-solving skills with an analytic and statistical approach
• Have a good understanding of Safe Working and 5S Practices.
• Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Have a good command of the English language.
• Be flexible, adaptable to needs and be able to take decisions following continuous inputs.
• Be computer literate.
• Be disciplined, motivated and willing to work in a team.
• Be able to work with minimal supervision and under own initiative.
• Knowledge on root cause analysis and problem containment will be considered an asset.
• Knowledge on semiconductor manufacturing shall be considered as an asset.
