الأدوار والمسؤوليات
1. Conducting Medical Laboratory Tests
-
Perform accurate analysis of blood, urine, stool, and other body fluids.
-
Conduct tests in various specialties such as:
Microbiology
Molecular Biology
Biochemistry
Hormones and Immunology
Hematology and Blood Bank
2. Sample Preparation and Handling
-
Receive samples and ensure they match patient identification data.
-
Properly store and handle samples to prevent contamination or degradation.
-
Separate plasma or serum using centrifugation.
3. Operating and Maintaining Lab Equipment
-
Use laboratory devices such as CBC analyzers, automated analyzers, and microscopes.
-
Regularly calibrate instruments and ensure optimal performance.
-
Report any malfunctions or technical issues immediately.
4. Analyzing and Interpreting Results
-
Review and compare test results against reference values.
-
Submit reports to the attending physician and assist in diagnosis.
-
Repeat tests if results are inconsistent or questionable.
5. Applying Quality and Safety Standards
-
Follow internal and external quality control (QC/QA) procedures.
-
Comply with biosafety regulations within the lab.
-
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling specimens.
الملف الشخصي المطلوب للمرشحين
1. Educational Qualifications
-
A Bachelor s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a related field (such as Medical Technology or Microbiology).
-
Some positions may accept a Diploma in Laboratory Technology with sufficient clinical experience.
-
Completion of an internship year in an accredited hospital or laboratory is highly preferred.
2. Professional Licensing
-
A valid license to practice from the relevant health authority (e.g., SCFHS Saudi Commission for Health Specialties).
-
Successful completion of a prometric exam or national licensing exam, depending on the country's regulations.
-
Commitment to continuous license renewal and attendance of approved training courses (CPD/CME).
3. Technical and Laboratory Skills
-
Proficiency in performing a wide range of laboratory tests in disciplines such as clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, blood banking, immunology, and molecular biology.
-
Hands-on experience with automated analyzers, CBC machines, centrifuges, and microscopes.
-
Ability to calibrate lab equipment and troubleshoot technical issues when needed.
4. Personal and Professional Skills
-
Strong attention to detail to avoid errors in test results.
-
Time management and organizational skills to work efficiently in high-volume environments.
-
Ability to work under pressure, especially when handling urgent or critical samples.
