Maintenance Electrical / Electro-Mechanical Foreman Feed mill SHARJAH AGRICULTURAL AND LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION EST (EKTIFA)

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Electrical / Electro-Mechanical Foreman is responsible for supervising and executing all electrical and electro-mechanical maintenance activities within the Feed Mill. The role ensures maximum equipment uptime and reliable performance of heavy-duty systems including intake, grinding, mixing, pelleting, and bagging lines, as well as the associated PLC/SCADA-controlled automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

Feed Mill Electrical & Electro-Mechanical Maintenance

• Supervise maintenance across the entire production flow: Raw Material Intake, grinding (Hammer Mills), Mixing, Pelleting, and Bagging.

• Maintain and troubleshoot specialized feed mill machinery such as CPM, Bühler, or Mecafa pelleting presses and conditioners.

• Coordinate with the production team to manage throughput efficiency and minimize downtime during batching cycles.

Automation, PLC & SCADA Systems

• Perform hands-on troubleshooting of PLC-based batching and weighing systems.

• Monitor and diagnose system issues using SCADA platforms (managing bin levels, routing, and formula execution).

• Maintain high-precision load cells, level sensors (ultrasonic/capacitance), and automated routing valves.

VFD, Motors & High-Torque Drives

• Troubleshoot and configure high-power VFDs for large motors (Hammer Mills and Pellet Presses).

• Maintain heavy-duty induction motors, including soft-starters, wiring, and thermal protection.

• Ensure electrical safety for motors operating in high-vibration and dusty environments.

Conveying, Gearbox & Pneumatic Systems

• Maintain bulk handling systems: Bucket elevators, screw conveyors, drag conveyors, and slide gates.

• Perform gearbox inspections, laser alignments, and fault diagnosis on high-torque drive assemblies.

• Manage pneumatic systems for dust aspiration (bag filters) and automated gate actuators.

Dust Collection & Utility Systems

• Supervise the maintenance of Dust Aspiration Systems and Bag Filters to ensure air quality and explosion prevention (ATEX/Hazardous area awareness).

• Maintain air compressors and steam boiler electrical controls (used for the conditioning process).

Preventive Maintenance & Documentation

• Execute and monitor PM programs specifically focused on lubrication schedules and vibration analysis.

• Maintain detailed logs of breakdowns and spare parts inventory for critical wear items (dies, rollers, beaters).

Safety & Quality Compliance

• Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and strict electrical safety protocols.

• Maintain equipment according to Feed Safety standards (preventing cross-contamination) and Occupational Safety (dust explosion prevention).
