MicroFocus/OpenText SMAX Consultant Gulf Power Alliance

The MicroFocus/OpenText SMAX Consultant will be responsible for managing

the operations of the Service Management Automation X (SMAX) platform. This role involves

maintaining and optimizing the SMAX system, ensuring its reliability, and providing technical

support to users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT Service Management

(ITSM) and hands-on experience with SMAX.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementation and Configuration:

o Configure and deploy OpenText SMAX modules for ITSM and ITAM.

o Customize workflows, service catalogs, and user interfaces per business needs.

o Manage multi-tenant architecture and ensure optimal performance.

• Solution Design:

o Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions aligned with

business objectives.

o Develop technical documentation, including process flows, architecture diagrams,

and configuration guides.

• Integration and Automation:

o Integrate SMAX with third-party applications such as monitoring tools, Active

Directory, and other IT systems.

o Develop and implement automation using SMAX’s codeless capabilities or scripting

where required.

• Testing and Support:

o Conduct system testing and assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

o Provide post-implementation support and resolve any issues or bugs.

• Training and Knowledge Transfer:

o Conduct training sessions for administrators and end-users.

o Create user guides and best practice documentation.
