Job Purpose

Supervising the operation and maintenance of pumping stations and transmission lines, and ensuring the efficiency and safety of operational processes in accordance with approved standards, while coordinating between the concerned parties to ensure the continuity and quality control of water supplies.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with approved policies, processes, procedures and instructions.

Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and practices, cost optimization, productivity improvement, and efficiency.

Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards within the water transport company and related roles such as (human capital, safety, industrial security, risks, cybersecurity, etc.).

Escalating problems to ensure challenges and issues are closed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Working on operational monitoring of the performance of pumping stations and pipelines and ensuring their compliance with standard operating procedures, while taking the necessary measures to correct any deficiencies or malfunctions.

Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports related to incidents, pumping efficiency, resource consumption, and equipment performance, and discussing them with relevant parties to ensure process improvement.

Conducting periodic checks on equipment and systems to ensure their operational efficiency and coordinating with maintenance teams to implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans on time.

Implementing operating and safety procedures related to the operation, isolation, and restarting of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems, while ensuring that all workers comply with occupational safety requirements.

Coordination of pumping and distribution operations through continuous communication with the Central Control Center ( CCR ) and Local Stations ( LCR ) to ensure efficient water flow according to operational plans and maintenance schedules.

Issuing work permits and supervising the implementation of maintenance work by internal teams and contractors, while ensuring compliance with work procedures and safety and quality requirements.

Analyzing operational performance by monitoring consumption, comparing forecasts with actual production, and providing suggestions to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.

Key Roles and Responsibilities 2

Performing insulation and return work for mechanical and electrical equipment of (medium - low) voltage, following the required safety procedures .

Monitoring water quality in coordination with laboratory teams, ensuring that transport systems comply with quality standards, and taking necessary actions when any defect is discovered that may affect water quality.

Participating in the planning and development of operating systems by proposing improvements to system designs, developing standard operating procedures, and ensuring that processes comply with the latest technical standards and recommendations.

Work coverage at all pumping stations whenever the need arises.

Understanding the functions of the pumping station operating systems of the transportation company and related manuals in line with the guidelines, policies and operating procedures .

The central control room is operated manually or electronically in accordance with the shift schedule, ensuring continuous monitoring and tracking of pumping load and tank level .

Inspect and monitor the central control room operations by reading station gauges, graphs, online analyzers, computer screens, meters, carrier systems in use and other devices for early detection of potential problems .

Key Roles and Responsibilities 3

Attempt to resolve any discovered problems and report any operational malfunctions or emergencies.

He monitors all equipment readings, records the readings on the designated sheets, and summarizes all work and problems that occurred during the shift and records them in the report book.

Implement the emergency plan as instructed, and report any delays or obstacles to the supervisor immediately, in order to avoid interruption of the water supply .

Coordination with the local control room to ensure that all central commands are taken into account and properly implemented, and also to implement all shutdown or switching activities between pumping units .

Supporting the completion of the shift schedule for preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure uninterrupted system operation.

Preparing the required report highlights the central control room shift operations, incidents and work stoppages, and thus updates the station's operational records in order to maintain a record of station performance.

Performing insulation and return work for mechanical and electrical equipment of (medium - low) voltage, following the required safety procedures.

Performing routine testing of fire suppression systems and reporting to the operations management.

Performing site visits to pumping stations and carrying out all equipment replacement and routine operation work.

Performing the duties of a tank site operator whenever required.

Tasks that can be assigned to him when needed:

Participating in the work of committees (internal and external).

Providing support and assistance to other transportation systems.

Education Requirements
