Job Description: Painter – Metal Fabrication Workshop Position Title: Painter – Metal Fabrication Department: Fabrication / Workshop Location: Dubai Industrial Park Reports To: Workshop Supervisor / Production Manager Employment Type: Full-time 1. Position Summary The Painter is responsible for preparing and painting metal parts, structures, and fabricated components within the metal fabrication workshop. The role ensures proper surface preparation, application of primers and topcoats, corrosion protection, and high-quality finishing. 2. Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation - Clean, sandblast, grind, or wire-brush metal surfaces. - Degrease, solvent clean, and mask areas not to be painted. - Ensure proper surface profile according to fabrication standards. Painting & Coating Application - Mix and prepare industrial paints, primers, and coatings. - Apply primer, intermediate, and topcoat using spray guns, rollers, or brushes. - Ensure correct film thickness using gauges. - Apply anti-corrosion coatings. Technical & Equipment Handling - Operate spray painting equipment and compressors. - Maintain spray guns and tools. - Follow correct mixing ratios and curing times. Quality Assurance & Inspection - Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, color match, and smoothness. - Record coat thickness and drying times. Safety & Compliance - Follow safety protocols and wear PPE. - Store chemicals according to MSDS. - Maintain a clean painting area. Coordination & Documentation - Coordinate with fabricators and supervisors. - Maintain records of paint usage and job status. 3. Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience - Minimum 2–3 years industrial painting experience. - Experience with epoxy coatings and structural steel preferred. Technical Skills - Skilled in industrial spray painting. - Knowledge of surface preparation standards (ISO, SSPC). - Ability to read paint data sheets. Soft Skills - Detail-oriented. - Good communication and teamwork. - Strong time management. 4. Physical Requirements - Ability to stand and move for long periods. - Able to lift 20–25 kg. - Able to work in painting booth conditions. 5. Working Conditions - Workshop-based metal fabrication environment. - Exposure to welding, dust, noise, and fumes. - Overtime may be required.
