About the School:

Due to the continued growth of The Royal Grammar School Guildford, Qatar (RGSGQ) we seek to appoint an enthusiastic and committed PE Teacher for Primary/ Secondary to join one of the most prestigious British International schools in the Middle East.

The RGS Guildford Qatar has developed a strong partnership with RGS Guildford in the UK a prestigious UK independent school with a tradition and rich history for providing outstanding education. We also have strong links with our international sister schools throughout the world.

The RGS Guildford, Qatar is an all-through British school offering a co-educational British curriculum for children aged 3 to 18. The School opened in September 2016, and now welcomes over 785 students to its campus which is just 20 minutes from the Pearl and the new Lusail city. Students follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage, the National Curriculum at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and at Key Stage 4 a comprehensive range of IGCSE courses. At Post-16 the school offers a range of AS levels. The school has a reputation for high quality teaching and learning and has a range of excellent sports facilities which include an astro turf, sports hall and an open-air swimming pool.

About the role:

• Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate PE lessons that align with the school s curriculum and focus on developing students' physical, social, and emotional skills.

• Monitor and assess students' progress in physical education, providing constructive feedback on skills, effort, and development.

• Develop lesson plans that incorporate a variety of activities designed to improve students strength, coordination, flexibility, and endurance.

• Manage student behavior during PE classes, ensuring that students follow safety procedures and respect each other.

• Provide individualized support and encouragement to students who may face physical or emotional challenges in the activities.

• Organize and oversee extracurricular sports and fitness activities, such as school teams, tournaments, fitness challenges, or after-school clubs.

• Engage with the wider school community to promote physical education, health, and wellness initiatives.

• Monitor students' physical health and fitness levels and address any concerns with parents, guardians, or school health staff.

• Ensure that all physical activities are conducted safely, with appropriate warm-ups, cool-downs, and equipment handling procedures.

Successful applicants must have:

A certified teaching qualification, such as B.Ed in Physical education, Sports Science, PGCE, or equivalent (the PGCE must be accompanied by a subject relevant Bachelor s Degree)

Exceptional subject knowledge, with extensive experience of teaching the British National Curriculum

Proven experience teaching physical education in a school setting

Strong knowledge of various sports, fitness routines, and physical health practices

A passion for teaching and learning and proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning

A willingness to take part in extra-curricular activities after school

Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
