Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer with 10 years of construction industry experience to manage procurement activities, vendor coordination, and material supply for projects in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will ensure timely procurement of materials, compliance with project specifications, cost optimization, and alignment with project schedules and authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Planning & Strategy

• Develop and implement procurement plans and schedules for materials, equipment, and services
• Ensure procurement aligns with project requirements, timelines, and budgets
• Identify long-lead items and critical materials for timely delivery

Vendor Management & Coordination

• Source, evaluate, and qualify vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and purchase orders
• Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure contractual compliance

Technical Review & Compliance

• Review technical specifications, datasheets, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and site teams for material approvals
• Ensure procurement complies with project standards, ISO requirements, and Abu Dhabi authority regulations

Inventory & Material Control

• Monitor material delivery, storage, and site utilization
• Maintain material tracking logs and delivery schedules
• Coordinate with site teams to minimize delays and ensure availability of required materials

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare purchase orders, procurement reports, and vendor performance records
• Maintain accurate records for audits, inspections, and project close-out
• Support handover documentation and as-built material records

Cost Control & Commercial Support

• Monitor procurement budgets, cost savings, and variation orders
• Support QS/Commercial teams with material take-offs and cost analysis
• Participate in tender evaluation and supplier selection

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Supply Chain/Procurement

Experience

• 10 years of procurement experience in construction projects
• Strong experience in Abu Dhabi / UAE projects
• Exposure to residential, commercial, infrastructure, or mixed-use projects

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of construction materials, MEP equipment, and construction standards
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), MS Office, and procurement software
• Understanding of Abu Dhabi authority regulations and approvals

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience with main contractors or MEP contractors in Abu Dhabi
• Proven track record in cost-effective procurement and timely delivery
• Familiarity with project contract types and commercial aspects
