Project Engineer Hydraulics - Managed Pressure Drilling

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and optimization of steady-state and transient hydraulic models.
• Select, develop, test, validate, and benchmark analytical and computational models for drilling hydraulics.
• Characterize complex hydraulic processes including multiphase flow, non-linear rheology, cuttings transport, and pressure management.
• Conduct research in analytical and computational modeling of drilling hydraulic systems.
• Collaborate with modeling engineers, software developers, and product lines to enhance existing modeling solutions.
• Partner with data scientists to develop hybrid solutions combining physics-based models with AI/ML.
• Evaluate third-party modeling solutions and assess integration potential.
• Identify modeling risks, uncertainties, and accuracy limitations during planning and execution.
• Produce technical publications and contribute to industry conferences.
• Mentor and technically guide junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety rules, policies, and mandatory training requirements.
• Develop physics-based models for engineering software.

Skills:

• Strong expertise in drilling hydraulics modeling.
• Hands-on experience with steady-state and transient hydraulic simulation tools.
• Proven background in physics-based modeling for hydraulic processes.
• Experience with multiphase flow, non-linear rheology, cuttings transport, and fluid abrasion.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills with a record of industry publications.
• Experience with CFD modeling techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python and/or C or C++
