Safety System Engineer

We are seeking a Safety System Engineer (SIS) with a strong background in Instrumentation and Control Systems to join our project team in the UAE or Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), and control system engineering across various project phases including design, testing, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in design, configuration, and integration of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD).
• Perform Functional Design Specification (FDS) preparation and review for safety systems.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for control and safety systems.
• Support installation, commissioning, and start-up activities related to SIS and ESD systems.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61511 / IEC 61508 standards and other relevant safety regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, electrical, and control engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to safety and control systems during all project stages.
• Participate in loop checks, system validation, and pre-commissioning activities.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD).
• Experience with control systems, logic solvers, and PLC/DCS-based safety platforms.
• Hands-on experience with FAT, SAT, and commissioning of safety systems.
• Familiarity with Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) verification.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working on oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial automation projects.
• Knowledge of major vendor systems such as Emerson DeltaV SIS, Honeywell Safety Manager, Yokogawa ProSafe-RS, or Triconex.
