Senior Card Reconciliation Testing Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Reconciliation Testing:

• Lead and execute comprehensive reconciliation testing across issuer, processor, middleware, and General Ledger systems
• Validate two-way and three-way reconciliation between internal systems, middleware, and external networks

Card Transaction Validation:

• Validate debit and credit card transactions across authorization, clearing, and settlement stages
• Ensure transaction integrity across ATM, POS, e-commerce, and teller channels

Middleware and Interface Testing:

• Validate data flow and transformation across middleware systems
• Ensure seamless integration between core banking systems, card platforms, and reconciliation tools

Data and File Reconciliation:

• Analyze and validate network files from Visa and Mastercard
• Reconcile settlement reports with General Ledger postings
• Identify discrepancies such as missing transactions, duplicate records, and amount mismatches

Test Strategy and Execution:

• Design and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test data
• Perform UAT, and regression testing for reconciliation systems

Defect and Issue Management:

• Log, track, and manage defects with clear documentation and evidence
• Perform root cause analysis for reconciliation breaks
• Collaborate with development, middleware, and business teams for resolution

Reporting and Compliance:

• Prepare reconciliation reports, dashboards, and audit documentation
• Ensure adherence to financial controls and regulatory requirements

Stakeholder Management:

• Act as a liaison between business, technology, and external partners (Visa, Mastercard, processors)
• Support business users during UAT and production validation

Technical Qualifications & Experience:

Domain Expertise:

• 6+ years of experience in card reconciliation testing or card operations
• Strong understanding of the card transaction lifecycle

Reconciliation Knowledge:

• Expertise in two-way and three-way reconciliation
• Strong knowledge of clearing, settlement, and GL reconciliation

Tools & Technologies:

• Experience with reconciliation tools such as TLM or similar platforms
• Hands-on experience in middleware/interface testing
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
• Basic SQL for backend validation

Card Network Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of Visa and Mastercard settlement/reporting formats
• Knowledge of transaction flows across ATM, POS, and online channels

Testing Methodology:

• Experience in SIT, UAT, and regression testing
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
