Job Profile:

The Senior Design & Estimation Engineer will be responsible for leading the engineering design, estimation, and technical development of natural gas pipeline systems, CNG systems, and pressure-reducing and metering skids. The role requires deep technical expertise combined with strong coordination and leadership capabilities to guide multidisciplinary engineering activities, support project execution, and ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

This position involves concept design, detailed engineering, hydraulic and mechanical calculations, material selection, cost estimation, R&D support, vendor evaluation, and full-cycle approval processes with clients, third-party inspection agencies (TPI), and relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for Natural Gas and CNG pipeline systems, PRMS skids, and associated components.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pressure drop analysis, flow calculations, and system optimization using recognized engineering methodologies.
• Conduct mechanical design, thermal analysis, and thermodynamic calculations for pressure vessels, piping layouts, and skid-mounted systems.
• Ensure selection and specification of materials in compliance with relevant standards, project requirements, and environmental conditions.
• Prepare engineering documentation, including P&IDs, GA drawings, data sheets, BOQs, design reports, and material specifications.
• Ensure designs meet IGEM, ISO, and API standards applicable to natural gas systems, PRMS design, and mechanical components.
• Knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel design (ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2) as an added advantage, including vessel sizing, wall thickness calculations, nozzle design, and compliance with fabrication and testing requirements.

Estimation & Commercial Support

• Perform accurate cost estimation for gas pipeline systems, skids, CNG systems, and related equipment.
• Develop detailed technical proposals, cost breakdowns, and bid documentation for tenders.
• Support financial analysis related to materials, labor, fabrication, testing, logistics, and vendor sourcing.
• Conduct techno-commercial evaluations of solutions and alternatives to optimize cost and performance.

Approvals & Compliance

• Ensure all engineering designs comply with international standards (IGEM, ISO, API) and applicable local authority regulations.
• Manage coordination with clients for design submission, review cycles, and final approval.
• Facilitate approvals from Notified Bodies / Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies for design verification, fabrication, testing, and certification.
• Lead the preparation and submission of engineering documents required for prequalification processes with governmental and regulatory bodies.

Project Coordination & Leadership

• Lead cross-functional design activities by coordinating with drafting, fabrication, procurement, quality, and project management teams.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and designers.
• Review and validate engineering deliverables prepared by internal team members and external consultants.
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP/HAZID sessions.

Research & Development

• Support R&D activities related to improving system performance, safety, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Evaluate and propose new materials, technologies, components, and design concepts suitable for natural gas and CNG applications.
• Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to qualify new products and technologies.
• Monitor industry trends and recommend improvements or innovation opportunities for PRMS, piping systems, and CNG skids.

Vendor & Material Management

• Evaluate and prequalify vendors for materials, valves, meters, regulators, filters, instrumentation, skid components, and specialized equipment.
• Review vendor documents, technical submittals, and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Conduct supplier capability assessments and support procurement in selecting suitable sources.
