Main Responsibilities: 1) Strategic Role: Think beyond short term objectives to consider the broader vision and strategic goals of HCT. Support in cascading the overall functional strategy into operational goals. Facilitate the achievement of strategic objectives by allocating resources and focusing the efforts of the team. 2) Operational Role: Support the industry partner to transfer knowledge of CubeSat to students - CubeSat technologies, decompose satellite mission requirements into mechanical, hardware and software requirements. Work with faculties and industry partners to develop basic education materials to be used in CubeSat projects. Work with the students to conduct by mentoring the following activities: Plan and manage spacecraft integration and testing activities at local industry partner facility. Assess the implementation of in-house technologies on-board the satellite bus. Integrate basic payload and COTS components into satellite bus. Identify candidate COTS parts and conduct trade-off in component selection. Prepare spacecraft system-level documentation. Prepare CubeSat for design review and launch acceptance. Support students to present the work in educational and CubeSat conferences. Support the development of a roadmap to focus on the buildup of technological capabilities in space/CubeSat technologies. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor to meet the business needs 3) Leadership Role: Demonstrate ability to work independently. Tailor activities to the development needs of subordinates and provide guidance on how to perform tasks. Provide subordinates the support they need to succeed and allow them to take responsibility for the results. Actively and effectively listen to others and help them resolve issues or overcome difficulties. Use appropriate situational leadership style depending on individual ability and the task to be accomplished e.g. directing, coaching, supporting, and delegating. Contribute in an effective and efficient manner to the development of UAE Nationals. 4) Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical or similar engineering fields from a recognized university, Full English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) required. Knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage 5) Experience: A minimum of 5 years of previous experience with the design and integration of CubeSats or small/microsats. Experienced with systems engineering, designing, implementing and/or testing CubeSat hardware. Ability to communicate and mentor students. Project and risk management skills.
