Duties / Responsibilities:

• Lead the High Level and Low-Level Design of the IP Backbone Network.
• Design network topology, routing, MPLS, and traffic engineering frameworks ensuring optimal connectivity between Mobile Core nodes, VAS platforms, and data centers.
• Define and document integration models for EPC (MME, SGW, PGW), 5GC (AMF, SMF, UPF), IMS, PCRF/PCF, AAA, RNC, and WiFi Calling systems.
• Ensure end to end transport design supports control and user plane separation (CUPS) and meets latency, redundancy, and capacity requirements.
• Design and validate interconnectivity between IP backbone, firewall, security, and charging domains.
• Validate detailed BoQ, design documentation, configuration templates, and integration interface specifications
• Migration & cutover planning, SOP preparations & review, validation, rollback, and post-migration troubleshooting
• Define interoperability and migration strategy between legacy IP backbone and the modernized network infrastructure.
• Conduct technical design workshops, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions with Batelco s Core, Transport, and Security teams.
• Support testing, validation, and acceptance of the designed solution, ensuring compliance with operational and business requirements.
• Provide technical governance, design assurance, and expert guidance throughout implementation and migration.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Telecommunications, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in IP/MPLS backbone design and Mobile Packet Core within telecom operator environments.
• Deep expertise in:

1. 1. span> Routing protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP) and MPLS (L3VPN/L2VPN)
   2. span> QoS, Segment Routing, EVPN, and redundancy mechanisms
   3. span> Mobile Core Network architectures EPC (MME, SGW, PGW), 5GC (AMF, SMF, UPF), IMS, PCRF/PCF, AAA,RNC, and WiFi Calling
   4. span> Security and Firewall integration within mobile and transport domains

• Proven experience designing IP transport for Core Network, VAS, and Data Center environments.
• Strong hands-on experience in configuration, testing, and commissioning of IP and mobile packet core network elements
• Proven capability to perform Routers and switch configuration, including routing protocols, MPLS, QoS, and VRF setup.
• Hands on experience in Network migration activities, such as cutover planning, validation, rollback, and post-migration troubleshooting.
• Hands on experience in Service provisioning, interface commissioning, and end-to-end integration testing between IP and Core nodes.
