Job description
Role Purpose

The Business Architect drives the development and maintenance of the banks business architecture. The role ensures alignment between business strategy, capabilities, processes, and the IT landscape, supporting transformation and effective decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Support departmental strategy, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Develop and maintain Business Architecture artifacts (capabilities, products, services, processes).

Create business architecture models and high-level designs showing interactions between systems and workflows.

Review BRDs, use cases, and process flows to assess impact on business architecture.

Work with Business and IT teams to identify gaps, finalize target-state architecture, and translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.

Ensure architecture principles, standards, and guidelines are followed across the bank.

Participate in architecture committees and review RFPs/RFIs for alignment with business architecture.

Maintain accurate architecture documentation in the EA repository.

Provide support to domain architects and collaborate throughout the project lifecycle.

Prepare required architecture reports and represent the function in meetings.

Understand and document AS-IS and TO-BE banking products and processes.


Technical Skills*


Strong knowledge of Business Architecture frameworks, modelling, and best practices.

Deep understanding of banking systems and domain areas (Accounts, Lending, Cards, Payments, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Operations).

Experience translating business needs into technical specifications.

Strategic planning, design thinking, systems thinking, and change management skills.

Awareness of emerging technology trends.


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or related field.

Preferred certifications: TOGAF, BIAN; additional certifications like CBAP or PMI-PBA are a plus.

10–15 years of banking experience, including 5+ years as a Business Architect or Business Analyst.

Strong English communication skills; Arabic preferred.
