Main Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of logistics professionals, including assigning tasks, providing training and development, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including scheduling shipments, arranging pickups and deliveries, and managing freight documentation.
• Optimize freight routes and transportation modes to minimize transit times and transportation costs while maximizing efficiency.
• Track shipments and monitor delivery progress to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers.
• Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to coordinate shipping schedules and resolve any issues or delays.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards for all shipments, prioritizing the safety of goods and personnel.
• Assist with the negotiation of shipping rates, contracts, and service agreements with carriers and freight forwarders.
• Provide guidance and support to team members, including resolving logistics-related issues, providing technical expertise, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, warehouse operations, and customer service, to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping documents, invoices, and delivery receipts.
• Assist with the resolution of logistics-related issues or customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in logistics operations and implement appropriate solutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to logistics and supply chain management.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills in logistics operations and leadership.
• Support the implementation of technology solutions, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and freight tracking software, to enhance visibility and tracking of shipments.
