Supervision of Subordinates

§ Organise and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work in mechanical and electrical department is carried out in an efficient manner, which is consistent with operating policies and procedures.

§ Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.

Electrical and Mechanical Activities

§ Oversee the managing of all ADC projects from a mechanical and electrical repair work perspective, from assignment of the work until the execution, progress review and inspection in order to ensure the work is carried out as planned.

§ Maintain ongoing coordination with the Mechanical Engineers and customers in order to ensure that the maintenance work is achieved as per the costs, standards and requirements.

Material Requirements and Use

§ Oversee the coordination with internal departments such as Procurement, Finance, Outfitting, Painting, etc. as well as material suppliers/vendors if and when required by the Electrical and Mechanical sections’ in order to ensure that material requirements are provided timely and accurately to complete job requirements.

§ Evaluate, Propose and Manage the CAPEX of the Department.

Technical Advice and Troubleshooting

§ Provide technical advice and guidance to the Electrical and Mechanical sections on electrical and mechanical repair work-related matters to support them in the achievement of their jobs.

§ Provide technical advice to the internal departments giving with feedback and recommendations for future improvement based on technical issues faced in machinery work.

Progress Updates and Documentation

§ Ensure that all electrical and mechanical repair activities findings and production updates are reported to the Manager – Machinery and Electrical using the agreed format so that critical events and potential delays are timely and accurately communicated for prompt action, thus minimising impact on overall schedules.

§ Review, manage and ensure the development of relevant electrical and mechanical repair activities documentation, progress, challenges and issues faced in order to ensure timely and accurate availability for any future reference and to ensure timely resolution of escalated issues.

Continuous Improvement

§ Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, improvement of processes and productivity improvement.

§ Training and development of all employees.

§ Prepare training modules where required.

§ Acquire new capabilities of the Mechanical and Electrical Department at par with the world’s best shipyard.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

§ Implement approved Mechanical and Electrical departmental policies, processes and procedures, provide instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment

§ Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls in all mechanical and electrical activities to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high-quality products/ services and a responsible environmental attitude.
