Test Lead - Retail POS/Kiosk/Billing System

This is not just a manual testing role. We need someone who can:

• Build automation-first QA frameworks
• Lead a team of testers
• Ensure high reliability in real-world restaurant environments
• Think like a product owner + QA architect

Key Responsibilities

1. QA Strategy & Leadership

• Define and implement QA strategy across POS, KIOSK, and integrations
• Lead and mentor QA team (manual + automation testers)
• Set up release quality gates and testing standards
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams

2. Automation-First Testing

• Design and implement test automation frameworks for:
• POS systems (billing, order lifecycle, payments)
• KIOSK flows (UI, checkout, payment integrations)
• APIs and backend services
• Drive CI/CD integration for automated test suites
• Reduce manual dependency with smart automation coverage

3. Functional & Integration Testing

• Validate complete flows:
• Order creation Kitchen Payment Settlement
• Test integrations with:
• Payment gateways (Razorpay, Pinelabs, Stripe, PAX etc.)
• Third-party POS / aggregators
• Inventory / ERP systems
• Ensure real-world edge cases are handled (offline mode, network drops, retries)

4. AI & Voice System Testing (Good to Have)

• Test AI voice agents
• Validate:
• Conversation flows
• Intent recognition accuracy
• Order creation via voice
• Work with product team to improve AI performance metrics

5. Performance & Reliability

• Conduct load testing for high-volume scenarios
• Ensure system stability during:
• Peak restaurant hours
• Multi-device concurrent usage
• Identify bottlenecks and work with engineering on fixes

6. Process & Documentation

• Create and maintain:
• Test cases, test plans, regression suites
• Bug tracking and reporting workflows
• Ensure clear QA documentation for releases

Required Skills

Core QA Skills

• Strong experience in POS / Retail / F&B systems
• Deep understanding of:
• Billing workflows
• Payment integrations
• Order lifecycle management

Automation & Tools

• Experience with automation tools like:
• Selenium / Cypress / Playwright
• Postman / REST Assured (API testing)
• CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)

Technical Understanding

• Good understanding of:
• APIs (REST, Webhooks)
• Databases (SQL / NoSQL)
• Cloud environments (AWS preferred)

Leadership

• Experience managing QA teams
• Ability to define QA processes from scratch
• Strong communication and stakeholder management

Good to Have

• Experience with KIOSK systems or hardware-integrated products
• Experience with AI / Voice systems testing
• Exposure to restaurant tech ecosystem (Petpooja, RISTA, Toast, Clover, etc.)
• Knowledge of RFID / QR / Self-checkout flows
