Experience Requirements
Senior Leadership & P&L Accountability
Minimum 5 years of senior management experience within an insurance brokerage.
Previous roles may include:
- General Manager
- Managing Director
- Deputy GM
- Head of Brokerage
- Head of Sales
- Head of Broker Operations
Proven experience managing brokerage P&L responsibilities, including:
- Revenue growth
- Cost management
- Profitability improvement
- Commission structure optimization
Experience in building and scaling brokerage operations, including:
- Start-up or early-stage businesses
- Turnaround environments
- Growth-stage brokerage firms
Execution-Focused Leadership
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong decision-making and action-oriented leadership.
- Ability to take ownership and drive initiatives independently.
- Capability to make timely and strategic business decisions.
- Proven ability to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
Sales & Telesales Leadership
Strong sales-driven mindset with deep understanding of brokerage sales performance.
Experience managing retail insurance sales teams, including:
- Telesales call centers
- Sales KPI tracking
- Incentive structures
- Conversion optimization
Ability to:
- Motivate and manage sales teams
- Improve revenue per agent
- Drive consistent sales performance
People & Process Management
Strong leadership capability to build a performance-driven culture.
Experience managing large teams and addressing underperformance effectively.
Proven ability to design practical and revenue-generating operational processes.
Experience building scalable brokerage platforms and operational systems.
Strategic & Digital Growth Exposure
Experience or exposure to:
- Launching or managing insurance aggregator platforms
- Digital insurance distribution channels
- Online lead generation and digital sales models
- Digital marketing strategies for insurance sales
Ability to convert digital initiatives into measurable revenue growth.

Education & Professional Qualifications
Education
Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
Professional Certifications
Cert CII (Chartered Insurance Institute UK) or equivalent Mandatory
ACII certification Strongly preferred
Additional professional development in insurance, brokerage operations, sales leadership, or digital distribution is an advantage.
Specialized Insurance Knowledge (Mandatory)
Retail Insurance Expertise
Strong hands-on knowledge of retail insurance brokerage operations including:
- Motor insurance
- Medical insurance
- Personal lines
- SME retail insurance products
- Pricing strategies
- Insurer negotiations and placements
- Commission structures
- Policy renewals and client retention
Corporate Insurance Expertise
Strong knowledge of corporate insurance placements including:
- Commercial lines insurance
- SME and corporate risk placements
- Risk structuring and policy placement
- Renewal management
- Negotiations with insurance providers
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge
Strong understanding of insurance broker regulations and compliance frameworks
Experience with GCC or Bahrain regulatory environments is preferred.
Financial & Commercial Understanding
Knowledge of brokerage financial drivers, including:
- Revenue mix
- Commission models
- Margin optimization
- Profitability management
Digital Insurance Knowledge
Practical understanding of digital insurance distribution including:
- Insurance aggregator platforms
- Online insurance sales journeys
- Digital marketing funnels
- E-commerce insurance models
