As a Junior Technical Writer within the Product Engineering & Technology (PET) division, you will assist in enabling engineering velocity and regulatory compliance through clear documentation. You are responsible for drafting, editing, and maintaining technical content including User Guides, API references, and compliance evidence under the guidance of senior architects.
Operating within a Docs-as-Code framework, you will ensure that the Cyberani knowledge base remains accurate, grammatical, and accessible to both internal engineers and external clients.
Responsibilities:
- Content Maintenance
Update and maintain existing documentation sets to ensure they reflect the latest software releases and feature changes.
- API Documentation
Assist in generating and formatting API references using tools like OpenAPI/Swagger, ensuring endpoints are clearly described for developers.
- Editing & Quality Assurance
Review technical drafts produced by engineers to correct grammar, formatting, and terminology inconsistencies, ensuring a professional standard of English.
- Knowledge Base Management
Organise, tag, and structure pages in the internal knowledge base (Confluence/GitHub Wiki) to ensure efficient information retrieval.
- Audit Support
Assist the Cyber by Design team in compiling, formatting, and versioning the evidence documents required for NCA compliance audits.
- Diagramming Support
Assist in creating and updating system diagrams and flowcharts based on sketches provided by Senior Architects.
الملف الشخصي المطلوب للمرشحين
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC)
- Google Technical Writing Coursesli>0 2 Years of experience in writing, editing, or content creation (portfolios of university projects or internships accepted).
Required Skills (Technical & Professional):
- Technical Writing (SFIA TECH Level 2)
Drafts and amends technical documentation under supervision.
- Content Management (NICE KO-106)
Basic knowledge of documentation standards and formatting.
- Tooling Stack
Familiarity with Markdown, Git, and basic command-line operations.
- Tech Fluency
Ability to read and understand basic code snippets (Python, JSON, YAML) is highly desirable.
- Office & Diagramming
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and basic diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart).
Required Skills (Behavioural & Soft Skills):
- Inquisitive Nature
The confidence to ask clarifying questions to engineers to ensure accuracy.
- Clarity & Precision
Exceptional grammar and syntax skills.
- Adaptability
Willingness to iterate on drafts based on feedback.
Nature of Experience:
You possess a portfolio of writing samples (university projects, technical blogs, or internship work) that demonstrates your command of English grammar and your ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
Your background shows a familiarity with modern documentation tools (Markdown, Git) rather than just traditional word processors, and you demonstrate an eagerness to learn Docs-as-Code workflows within a fast-paced engineering team.
