Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Shifts Unilever

JOB PURPOSE

The primary focus of this role is to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency within our cosmetics manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for rapidly solving equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime, supporting scheduled maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. then this role is just for you!

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

• Emergency Breakdown Response & Repair:
• Diagnose and execute timely repairs of mechanical equipment failures (e.g., pumps, mixers, conveyors, packaging machines) to quickly restore production operations.
• Rapidly solve breakdowns and log all fault details to identify recurring issues.
• Enhance Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) by optimizing diagnostic and repair processes.
• Planned & Preventive Maintenance (PM):
• Support in planned maintenance activities, including scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements, to prevent unscheduled downtime.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed according to the established PM schedule and quality standards.
• Continuous Improvement & Reliability:
• Actively participate in and create Kaizen (continuous improvement) proposals focused on improving equipment reliability, reducing breakdown frequency, and streamlining maintenance workflow.
• Recommend and implement solutions to chronic maintenance problems.
• Documentation & Compliance:
• Complete accurate and detailed maintenance reports, work orders, and logbook entries (paper and digital) promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and quality standards specific to the cosmetics industry (e.g., GMP - Good Manufacturing Practices)

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Mechanical Technician in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Proven experience in factories, specifically in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with pneumatic systems, hydraulics, power transmission, and precision alignment.
• Minimum of a Technical Education qualification (e.g., Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field).

Skills

• Technical & Soft Skills:
• Strong ability to diagnose complex mechanical faults.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) for reporting, data logging, and tracking maintenance schedules.
• Good in English reading for comprehending technical manuals, safety procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• A strong commitment to safety and quality, particularly GMP standards.
